Lucie, quarantenaire célibataire, est une femme indépendante et active. Après le décès de sa mère, elle accueille chez elle sa petite sœur Valentina âgée de 20 ans, atteinte de trisomie 21. Elle va se trouver profondément bousculée dans son rapport à la vie.
